Sound Files:

these four soundbytes were used to create my first project.

Homer says D'oh ------I got this for my first project. It is homer saying Doh

Mr Burns: Excellent------THis is also for my first project. Mr Burns says "excellent"

Groundskeeper Willie Says bonjour---- Yet again this is for my first project.. Groundskeeper Willy says Bonjour, Ya cheese eatin' surrender monkeys.

Homer Screams----Homer's classic screams. Again, this is for my first project.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mikes Bad Day ---this was my first sound project from RTF318, and now it's my sound #6

Evil Dead Sound --- This is when Linda gets possessed and tries to kill Ash. Kinda creepy, and would make for a pretty cool sample w/some tweaking.

moog sound----I was looking on the internet for sounds, when I found this. It's and old school moog sound that i'll probably convert into an instrument for some other project.

Drum Loop--- I just thought this was a decent sounding drum loop.

ET---my roommate believes in ET--for proj2

Glass---I broke some glass as a sample for proj2

projector--I'm the manager at the Gateway 16, so I recorded the projector motoring up for proj2

Birds--I sampled some birds chirping in the morning.

These next 8 sounds are for my final project.

breathing ---sound of heavy breathing. kinda creepy

Clue the movie ---theme music at the end of the movie when they switch to different endings. Since my project is same footage w/different sounds to create tone, I felt this would be fitting.

heartbeat ----good sound of a heartbeat. Will add effects to make creepier

Godzilla -----godzilla roars. How am I going to incorporate this into my next project? Let's just say its a really goofy project

Round 1 --- A sound from Mortal Kombat. It says "Round 1.....Fight!!!!!"" Like i said, this is gonna be a goofy project

2001 Theme ---opening theme for 2001 A Space Odyssey. This will open the second half of my project

Car Crash ----A car skids and crashes into somebody.

Plunger ----the sound of a plunger. Ya gotta love the sloppy sound.

Here is my Project #1. It's not the greatest, but oh, well. It uses the first four soundbytes (and others) and tries to recreate The Simpsons Theme Song.

Project #2: A combination of Music Concrete and Simultaneity, this project was very difficult. I'm still not too happy with the end product, but I'll let you decide on the quality. Music Concrete involves creating a musical piece through looping, changing pitch, and all around screwing around with naturally recorded sounds. For this, I created a drum beat with a shoe and a few aluminum trash cans (it's a good thing my roommate is a drummer!), a bouncing Basketball, and the destruction of a dog house w/a sledgehammer and more plywood. Simultaneity is the concept of feeling as though you're in several places at the same time. I modify this by taking you to one place then transfer you to the next after a while. I'm probably not making any sense, but it's early in the morning as i type this message. Anyway, enjoy the random sound of harmony through chaos.

Project # 3 : This is one of the most intense projects I've ever attempted. I believe that sounds create the tone of any piece of footage, so I shot a zombie flick with no sound. I did however, record one scene with sound. The rest was completely silent. After editing the footage, i put it together twice, and created two separate soundscapes. One is supposed to be an action zombie tone, while the other is a goofy zombie tone. Basically, i had to become a foley artist and compile a bunch of sounds to use. I try to use sounds as sparingly as possible, using them only when i wanted to create a desired effect. This was very difficult, as matching sounds to film is harder than expected. I spent a lot of time on this bad boy, and i hope it shows! I've got it in Glorious Quicktime, as well as an Mp3 version. The mp3 doesn't make very much sense, since the sound is supposed to create the atmosphere of the footage. I spent a good deal of time editing the songs to match the images, as well as fading and panning. Enjoy!

Zombie Quicktime

Zombie Mp3---------------I don't know how to convert my sound from the quicktime format to an mp3, but as soon as i know how to it will be up i promise!
